While some of the microbes were pathogenic—including traces of anthrax and the Bubonic plague, which, believe or not, were harmless—straphangers have nothing to worry about. Many of the species are good for human health or simply associated with foods like cheese and yogurt.

I'm actually surprised by how healthy the city actually was. I don't want to know what nasty little microbes are hanging around in cities in the Philippines.
