Mostly nuts, fruits, vegetables but can't deny I have the odd cheese or noodles. Rice obviously and Honey! Once this month is gone I might well revert to a bit of fish or seafood. Had a great Greek salad the other day, restaurant down the Boulavard. Robinsons upstairs food court, up escalator straight on towards left side does a decent vegetarian option. Most people I've come across over here don't seem very health aware, I'm being polite btw. I see a health crisis coming in the Philippines due to sugar addiction intake and salt. Let's be honest now any country where spaghetti is considered high up on the food chain is laughable. IMO of course...
(a health crisis coming) This is already present at this moment in time, the average life span of the Filipino people is around 10yrs shorter than that of the western world, salt, sugar and the high proportion of white rice in their diet perhaps the main factor is causing this.
Yes it is present, I was being overly polite. Some of the stuff I see in people's trolleys is unreal. Processed sh*t in brightly coloured packets, just like sweets for children. Just ate a bowl of rice, Brown not white plus a dollop of Shiga Raw Wild Honey from the wild forests of Mindano. One of the few things worth buying from Robinsons supermarket I might add. Nature's sugar is generally fine whereas processed white crap is a no no. Filipinos moving up the money spending chain will unfortunately consume more of this fried McD Jolibee Shite. Now white rice kills over time, imagine coating your arteries regularly with a thick paste, yes hold that thought....Lol
It's a sad fact that there are more and more fast food outlets opening up in Dumaguete. At least two more just on the northbound highway. How much more of this crap can the population eat? This is another conundrum of Filipino society (like riding motorcycles as if they have a death wish). There's a big value put on living and they give thanks to every new day alive, but then if you question the diet, the response is 'Well, you only live once, so enjoy it'.
Education I guess is the only answer as you can't teach stoopid. Some of the things you see here are just plain daft to the point where clearly their brains are wired very differently. You have one life so respect it.....
Fair comment re reading mine, however not entirely intended as it might be construed as rather blunt, but more an observation on the hard facts surrounding food health etc. Which are very hard to dispute, to quote Dave1952 - the average life span of the Filipino people is around 10yrs shorter than that of the western world. Btw I won't start on that evil drug smoking (yet) Just saying....
I agree! Please let's return to OP's intention. He is seeking like minded Members as far as meat based diet info.. Thank you to all for considering the topic at hand. Thread obviously moved from (Business and Products) to (Hobbies and special interests)
