    Hi

We have been talking about moving to Philippines in near future. Im 36 years old but retired due to helth issues. I have a muscle disorder witch causes alot of cronical pain 24/7. Here in Norway im in need of painkillers to have a productive life... And this is my issue for this post....

Do anyone here in this forum have experiance with getting strong pain medecin legaly? Im using Tramadol (Nobligan, tramal and so on...same drug) witch is normal in Philippines. But i also need stronger drugs like Fentanyl. This is a band aid lasting over three days period. Its made my life mutch better and without it im not shure if i culd have a normal life. Also Oxycontine witch is a similar drug wold do i think.... I know there are brands and types of medecin that i dont know the name of witch may be available there since everything is "americanized" :-)

Also how is the hospitals there? I have never needed a hospital stay before last month when we where in Dipolog...I got the dengue Fever. But who knows...Its always good to know if there is a place to get help if something shuld go wrong for me, my wife ore my kid. The hospital in Dipolog i stayed in was horrible, but the doc was ok.

Medicines in the Philippines are okay, there are Branded Medicines, Branded Generics Medicines and Generic Medicines. So, if its okay with you to take Made in India medicines to made in Philippine medicines are also available. Just be careful, there are also fake medicines around. Be sure to buy it at a decent drugstore. Safe one is to buy on chain drugstores. There are generics pharmacy now in Dumaguete, perhaps you can try it too. Hospitals here? I think its more better than Dipolog Hospitals but less better than Cebu and Manila Hospitals. Be sure to check the Doctors record before going in to their clinics...there are negative news on the previous threads. Good Luck!

Medicines here in the Philippines is just the same, the different is the quality of the manufacturer. The packaging. My father is a medical representative, I can help you what medicine your looking for.

gelo24, Sorry to stray away from the thread but, can you ask your dad if the Kirkland vitamins found in Dumaguete are real or fake? I think they are real but it's always good to ask an expert.
    Thanks Ron

RCS, I'm a chronic pain sufferer also. So I've learned a little bit....
As you know, the Tramadol here goes over-the-counter as "Tramal" and is the cheapest I've found locally is 25p for the 50mg at the pharmacy in Robinsons.
I haven't seen anything like Fentanyl in the pharmacy's, but I have a friend with a prescription from an American VA doctor that allows him to get morphine in tablet form from someplace in Cebu City. He's pretty messed up and that gives him relief.
I fortunate enough to have Oxycontine delivered to my front door once a month, but them are much needed.

Im sorry to hear. Living with pain is not fun. Fentanyl is actualy the next step up from Morphine and Oxycontine. Its a bit moore potent then morphne and works faster. I have asked around at diffrent pharmacys for Fentanyl in band aid form but noone have it. I learned yesterday that you also can get Fentanyl as a lollipop...hehe.... "Keep away from children" im shure it sais, but how easy is that with a lollipop.

Can i ask how you get the Oxy`s on your door delivered? What im also afraid of is that when you order one type medecin every month and one day they dont have for you and your out... Withdrawel symptoms are not nice...

Gelo24: You culd ask him if he knows about Fentanyl. If its available by order at a pharmasy ore not. If he knows the price its even better :-). Today im getting 5 band aids in one box. They last for three full days etch.

I know that there is a big fake medecin industry in India witch sells Viagra, Cialis and other famous "medecins" on the streets of Philippines. Im shure you all have experianced it. Is there any reason to think you might get fake medecin over the counter at one of the chain stores like Mercery ore other known drugstores?

Medecin in Philippines is one of the things that is mutch moore expensive then in Norway even.... I feel sorry for the locals who needs medecin but cant afford it!!

I've run out a number of times, it's a couple of days of feeling shitty, but surprisingly, I can take Tramal to minimize the discontinuation discomfort of Oxy.

Also, I've always heard, and it seems to be true, that people that take painkillers for actual and legitimate pain don't have the kind of withdrawal problems that folks have when taking it for "dealing with life".

And Federal Express through Air 21 delivers my medications.

The withdrawel symptoms are as you say "When you feel shitty" :-). What you are thinking of probably is that one who have real physical pain is moore likely not to get dependent of the medecin. Many ppl say that when they come to a warmer climate they can stop all their pain medecin.... Well for me it seem like they dont realy have physical pain, moore mental. Thats serious to, but shuldent bee treated with painkillers :-)

I know that after many years of using strong painkillers you always will feel shitty if you stop them. At least for some days until your only feeling shitty because you actualy have pain... Medecin also can increase the feeling of pain when used for a longer period...Its not supposed to be easy :-).

One of the things i hope will happen is that i wold be able to manage with less painkillers in Phil...Also my bloodpressure culd go down a bit from less stress there....Who knows. Its been posetive the experiance iv had staying for a few months earlyer. There is no reason to sit here in Norway full of pain when i culd be there, sitting on the porch watching the sundown drinking a cold san miguel. Here its raining, 8 degree and....just depressing wether :-)

Hey Manzanita, may I ask thru whom you get your oxy? That would definitely beat driving all over Manila to different Mercury Drug stores trying to find ones that have it in stock.

I tried to PM you but can't seem to find how to do that on this forum...? hit me up at laguna_dude87@yahoo.com

    Cheers
