    Hello everyone.
I've been hanging around here for a couple of weeks enjoying the wealth of information available. I'm married to a Filipina and we're still in the States but getting ready to retire to the Philippines. I've visited 5 times, mostly Luzon with side trips to Puerto Galera and Boracay. We're not interested in living on Luzon and the Visayas are looking very attractive. I hope to be able to keep getting excellent information from all you "gentle people".
    Mabuhay!

Thanks. I assumed by your on-line name you're from California. I shoulda looked. I would enjoy hearing about your experiences in the Visayas.

Yea, maybe I should have used "Northwest" instead of "West Coast". but I came here from Virginia, and my thinking was everything west of the Rockies is the West Coast :o

But Definitely!! I've been visiting Negros fairly often in the past 11 years. My wife's family is from there, and I love visiting. It's a lot more laid back than Luzon. This board will give you a good flavor of what it's like and how its changing.

Marky, you're making me a believer.

We're very interested in being able to have a sailboat and exploring as much of the Philippines as reasonably possible. Any information about sailing in the Visayas would be most appreciated.
I've discovered Andy Smith's boatyard on Panglao. The Wharram cats look very promising.

A lot of sailboats and yachts dock at Tambobo Bay. That's an hour away from Dumaguete City in a town called Siaton.
