You realize that "the whole world" includes you and countless refuseniks all over the globe, so that in reality it'll probably be closer to 5 billion, to vaccinate all those willing. Still not likely to happen really fast, if you consider most vaccines need 2 doses it would mean 10 billion, possibly more if governments invest in extensive campaigns to get vaccinated, and/or travel made easier for those who have been vaccinated (Europe is already aiming for a vaxx passport which will avoid forced quarantaine when travelling, avoid required negative pcr tests, and grant access to mass events etc.). So yes, there will still be a lot more opportunity for new variants to emerge that may escape immunity. Long term I am still optimistic though, that eventually the "winning variant" will prove to be a lot more harmless than current ones, based on natural evolution processes.
What? If the US (or airlines that fly there) require a vaccine at some point in the future they will likely pull from the list of approved vaccines in the US. The Chinese and Russian vaccines, at least at present, are not approved vaccines in the US. This is one, of many, reasons why I do not what to get jabbed with a Chinese or Russian vaccine. Another reason I do not want these vaccines is that they are inferior and I don't want to get jabbed with multiple vaccines, that we don't know the long term effects of yet, when it can be avoided. I want to limit that risk, even with those risks being currently unknown. Does this clear up the confusion?
Countries such as US, UK etc cannot afford to continue to exclude those vaccinated with Chinese or Russian vaccines (entire population of those countries) as they would 'lose' billions in tourist and business revenues. I say lose, but they really need to win it back as it's already lost.
As you can see between these two reports, the main variation in active case count arises from different reporting of Recoveries. Could just be late catching up by Provincial Health Office, but a massive difference and the extension or otherwise of MECQ will be made based on provincial report.
I looked at this before, and the recoveries wasn't the answer back then. I just accepted there are differences between the reports, and I could not determine that a lag was the reason. Since I'm interested province wise, not just Duma, I went for the PGNO. There are differences between all the sources, but if I follow PGNO, and there is a lag, over time it will give me a better picture of the Province. I've been wondering when we will top out on infections. The highest in the last wave was ~387. So, no, I couldn't see that in the past. I think it's a presumption most people make without tracking it for a while.
Point taken. There were Germans flying to Russia for vaccine tourism. The whole vaccine tourism thing is odd, but understandable.
Yes. When I went down I had no idea which vaxx it was. My plan if it was Sinovac was to get it and mix n match, even if the second jab was Sinovac. Getting an mRNA booster was always in the plan, if possible. I know I don't get my druthers. I don't think it's a problem, from what I've read and heard, but my wife is very hesitant over Sinovac. So much so that I'm willing to travel and stay somewhere to get her a vaxx she likes. Her bff in Cebu just got Pfizer by luck of the draw.
