An N-95 mask worn in a car apparently resulted oxygen deprivation and caused a crash (those masks are really sealed).

Opinions on masks are not all the same, they vary greatly; here, the LGU makes them mandatory everywhere, even while driving, but keep an open mind:

    From: https://www.guideautoweb.com/en/articles/55009/driving-with-a-mask-can-be-dangerous/

"Motorists and the public alike are reminded that while masks should be used in public settings to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, they are not necessary outdoors when social distancing can be maintained, and especially not necessary when driving a vehicle with no additional occupants," the Lincoln Park PD wrote on Facebook.

    I don't know.
In defense of @NYC he did say from the very beginning that everyone should wear a mask.
@NYC also recognized that they are for the safety of the community and not a personal decision. Including: "Enforcement should be expensive and subject to arrest."
@Notmyrealname What you say is true and thank you for pointing out that wearing a mask has some resistance to infection by reduced face touching and some filtration effect. (Although a cloth mask is not as good as a N95 = 95% filtration.)
Skipping the details, the issue is that in order to stop the spread of this virus we all need to work together. (wear masks, reduce exposure, etc.) I think you both agree on this.

The challenge is the oppositional defiant minority who complain about a nanny state while putting others in the community at risk. A spirited discussion helps to educate the oppositional defiant. Thank you!

And yet strangely, if there are locals here, they seem to remain quiet on these issues. I've noticed on fb as well that when the Provincial Office issues it's latest (no progress) Covid-19 report, it receives 'love and kisses' all round, with only the occasional clearly western named dissenter. Why is that? Is there an ingrained culture that assumes that everything that comes from those in a 'higher' position must be right? If those figures were issued with no commentary anywhere else they would provoke thousands of questions.

Actually, there is no disagreement. I said the risk is very low and you described low in more detail. I agree there should not be a stay at mandate, sucks. I was only stating my own potential high risk. If I had a million dollar life insurance policy, I would ignore the risk unless red flags appeared. Ingat

But OFWs have been moving from Cebu to Negros Occidental - there seems no sense in this decision of which areas are more risky. My reading of many local newspapers informed me that Negros Occidental and Iloilo have recently been far worse than Negros Oriental. But I did read today that ALL regions of the Philippines are to be GCQ if not ECQ (modified version) and the decision to exclude some regions has been reversed.

I quote this straight from the Palace. Region 6 which includes Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo; Negros Occidental, Iloilo City and Bacolod City. Residents in these areas can return to their normal day-to -day routine, but still need to practice minimum health standards. This is going to be implemented on Saturday May 16. '' THIS IS NOT FAKE NEWS'' My question is why Negros Oriental is not included.
