How much does a decent scooter cost in Duma? And does one need a driver's license ?

I just bought a new Honda Wave 125cc and paid 62,800 pesos ($1300.00+)
and 400 pesos to have it delivered about 30 miles away. That price included tags, taxes and insurance fo 3 years.
    I live on Mindanao.
If you are from the US you can use your valid US drivers license for 90 days from the day you arrive here and you can trade it in for a Philippine license without taking a written or driving test.
The most popular scooter here is a Honda XRM 125. The Wave is only about $100.00 US more and I think it looks better, but the cheapest is the Chinese knock-off of a Honda. However I was told there almost impossible to get warranty work or spare parts for them.
There are a lot of Yamaha and a few Suzukis here but the price is about 20% higher than a Honda, because the Honda is assembled here in phils.
Mine is great (for a 125cc) considering I sold a Harley 1450cc just weeks before moving here.
But then there is a thing about traffic here, but that's a whole different subject.
