So here in donsalvador (bacolod now using internet cafe) rented house, maybe only non nipa hut house available and still it came with the care taker and her 2 kids living there...Definitely fresh air and no sick feelings there..Even bacolod city doesnt give me bad fever problems when I'm out in the rain..1 night in don salvador and breathing pains and congestion improved and my body feels more energetic....Nothing here in Village town but only 1 hr ceres to bacolod and 2hrs ceres to san carlos because sancarlos road is very windy and dangerous..maybe a Ceres or jeepney went over road side cliff there recently and few were killled...Maybe i will raise goats and crops for a past time here, maybe lease some farm land??

Local police chief really worked me when i visited the local police station in town..He even asked what if I commited crime in dumaguete and want to hide in the hills there? Hes from Dumaguete...Just no foreigners living here and few people over all live here and mostly farmers and once in a while tourist and mountain bike events and down hill long boarding along high cliffs with no guard rails some places. not much choice at all for renting a real house either..

Thanks for the update. That place sounds nice! So.....when the history books are written, it looks like you'll be the one responsible for the tourist "invasion" of Don Salvador! :D

Went to Mambucal yesterday near here like 40 minutes two buses and frequent rides also...Mambucal resort is a hiddn jewel of negros almost a five star camp park run by the govt. Large swimming pools (blue tile and paved terraces) Lots of large trees and flying foxes (largest bats on earth)..Yep feeling better here, still get cough and sniffles but nothing like in dumaguete....I do miss having a fridge that freezes and a house available to rent all to myself...One guy stopped by the resort in front my house saying if i wanted a house here to rent he would build it for me... I hope its not too good to be true? They advertise tourism big here but no accomodations..Like the use the trash receptacle signs in dumaguete but no trash receptacles....Build it and we will come....:D

We have never made it there, but plan to one day. Any idea how much the overnight cottages rent for?

600 piso is the low range i saw wich would be a bunking rom for many in the same style (nice building)as the more private cottages..I saw 1000piso and I cant remember well the high price but i sure less than 3000...I paid 180 piso for watermelon which sold out side the resort for 50..But the service and amenities are unreal for that isolated area..Sulfur smelling water flows there and is "healing properties" bathing..Several large pools and some small mineral spring pools....I may rent house that area in future, more available there but little choices
