I remember the first time I tried getting into that cave, decided to not take camera so took only phone, it stopped working about half way in hehe, I never made it to the bottom as think I would have fried and also new north face t shirt bleached by acid dropping from the cave celing!
Hello, I found the trail from Magsaysai to Baslai hot springs.Can You describe the trail to this cave as well?
Thats a tough one..... head south toward Dauin. Just after the old USA store and before you get to La Fiesta is a school and a crossing. The highway goes towards the mountain. Turn right. Take this road, approximately 8-11 kilometers. I am sorry, but I forget the exact distance. It is either 8 kilometers or 11 kilometers exactly. You will pass through an area where the trees line both sides of the road and completely cover it. Like going through a tunnel...... continue on. The road was being cemented almost all the way, but the last portion was very bad. (it may be cement by now). At exactly 8, or 11 kilometers from the highway. there is a small path on the left. At the entrance is a small cement wall, like a gate was attached at one time. Call it an old cement outcropping. The road is very bad at this point. Follow to path back about 100 meters. There is a clearing and a large crater the size of a football field with steam coming from it. The smell of sulfer is strong, and the rocks hot to the touch. The path continues to the left past a small house about 200 meters. Then sharp right turn and down into the crater. About 75 meters on the right side is the cave. On a side note. When you are standing on the trail in front of the cave.. Drop a large rock to the ground. Chest high and release. The rock hits with a dull hollow sound, like a drum. As you are standing on a manttle of unknown thickness. With a very obvious hollow under your feet, Very Kool. I appoligize for forgetting the exact distance, Try 8 k first. then the 11.
