NBI is National police clearance, I need it for a working Visa application for Brazil.

It seems if you go to the head office in Manila the NBI can be processed in 5 days (will find out soon)

Still wrong on the 5 day manila comment. Any 4ner gets an automatic HIT on the application. That means 20 working days before the document is given.

The NBI clearance is the highest form of background check done here in the fills. Your prints are scanned and if you have a record here or a court case pending it will come up.....

    Update:
I needed an NBI clearance with DAF certification for a Brazilian working visa, the Normal processing time for the NIB for a long nose I n Dumaguete is 20 working days plus weekends, then 8 days at embassy Brazilian for my work Visa, I only have 24days at home.
    What we managed:
18th in Manila NBI head quarters in Ermita 10:30 , picked up a form on the ground floor, went straight to the 3rd floor, meet a gentleman, rest was very straight forward, out by 11:30

Short and sweet…………………… mmm , yes and no,

As it was a Wednesday the shortest time was 5 working days, therefore I need to back in Manila for Wednesday .

    Again what we managed,
we arrived back at NBI in Ermita 23rd 11:30 Mondays morning as told to do, floods and all.

Went up to the 3rd floor and asked for the gentlemen who helps us, lots of blank faces……………….. then the right face,

Received the wrong clearance,(my fault did have my glasses on, didn’t know what I needed) wrong stamped on the page and the wrong colour, only found this out when we went to DFA for a certification, so back to NBI, phone the gentlemen that helped us, he met us down stairs, he fix the problem, ( he didn’t have his glasses on either when we read the original cert) back to DFA, file the form and had it derived to the Visa processing agents 2 days later.

What it cost : two return trips to manila plus hotel, plus food and taxi’s we gave 3200 Paso’s to the gentlemen who made it all happen.

I think that the process time is all relevant to the person you meet at the head office, it went ok for me but who knows what would happen if you don’t meet the right guy.
