Need help Identifying this creature..

    This was caught in the jetties at St. Andrews Park, Panama City, Fla. No one seems to be able to identify. Picture is a bit blurry but hopefully clear enough for someone to tell us what it is. 12 inches long and the fan around his body was like a strip of lace all the way around. Head like a catfish.. he was wicked looking..

    I'm going to go off on a limb here and guess it's a Gaftop. They have like lacy slime around there body's this time of year, it helps keep other fish away from there young/eggs. The male is the one that does this, the eggs are carried in there mouth. They look like a freshwater catfish but are found in saltwater around the Gulf of Mexico.
