Yes....the US has been providing arms to the Philippines for a very long time. Just like the food aid, these things make it into the hands of people it wasn't meant for.

Maybe 3 guys were arrested in Duma, but were released as it was mistaken, they aren't guilty (of that) -- so there's no media story.

Seems like it's all calmed-down by now.... (?) My gal took our gang to Sea Forest, said the crowd was a bit thin for a holiday, but all seemed normal otherwise.

Has there been any follow-up in media about the Bohol raid? Bad Guys who ran away, captured yet? Have cops been able to interview any surviving pirate, find out what the plan was, what this raid was all about....? I'd love to know more detail.

Neighbours are saying they did not go to Dauin last night to go diving for Fish due to reports that there was a small 'War in Dauin' with 'fighting' going on on the beach... Just showed them that there is nothing on Google regards the ASG in Negros but they are adamant something was going on there last night. They were not amused when I showed them the only reports I could find were related to 'Cock Fighting' hehe

Sounds like one of the original articles that has just been reworded to include Siquijor.

Lying sacks of sh*t IMO. It has nothing to do with the Oplan Ligtas Biyahe and everything to do with reported sightings of ASG in the region. They are just trying to minimize the economic burden this will cause on the tourism industry.

Government/Police/Military: "P1M reward for information that leads to the capture of ASG in the Visayas!"
Tourist: "Wait, I thought you said you killed all of them in Bohol and everything was safe now."
Government/Police/Military: "Oh, this is just something we do every year around Lent. Don't worry about it."
Tourist: "You put a bounty out for Muslim extremists every year on Lent? That's kind of an odd thing to do."
Government/Police/Military: "STFU and keep spending money!"

Sorry some of the things the appointed politicians say here in the Philippines, just make me want to :vomit:, enjoy the sarcastic humor.

Everything is safe (because the tourism officials and Stake Holders have said do):
"Tourism officials and stake holders yesterday declared the Philippines is a safe place to visit despite adverse travel advertorials issued by several embassies warning of terror attacks in the country". :vomit:
"This was the agreement reached during a meeting between stakeholders and officials led by Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo, amid reports that travelers has started cancelling planned trips to the Philippines."

No security or intelligence officials were allowed at the meeting to cause confusion by differing viewpoints.

Unfortunately the accused tandem motorcycle assassins in Pasay who killed the Japanese business man yesterday did not read the memo. They have profusely apologetic to Secretary Teo for killing the Japanese Business man visiting the Philippines.:o o: She has accepted their apology and everything is good again since the businessman (Seiki Mizuno) in Pasay was not South Korean (Ji Ick Joo) like the business man that the police are accused of killing previously. :o o:

Dave & Imp led a meeting with the cat Stake holders, Imp and Uggy and we have come to agreement that everyone on the forum should send us 1 kilo of fresh fish per month or five cans of "Fancy Feast" Turkey Feast Flavor. This was the agreement reached during a meeting between official stakeholders (Imp and Uggy) by Dave and Imp :o o: and and should not be questioned even if your life may be in jeopardy because your wife/GF wants the fish for the family. We are having another meeting tomorrow to consider other issues which we will try to get the members of the forum to believe.

There will be no more bad news (because we will not let bad news out): "At the same time, Teo urged security officials to be more cautious in issuing statements to the international media regarding the situation in the country. "I will talk to them that was one of the concerns also because of the reports. I think they should be coordinating with us always," Teo Said. :vomit:

You can read these quoted truths in the The Philippines Star, Friday issue 4-21-2017

If the bad news can be restricted, nothing bad will happen in the Philippines.

Note we urge you to deliver the fish fresh or Fancy Feast in environmentally safe plastic bags, two cans per bag. Imp and Uggy are so excited about their new feeling of superiority and entitlement since being appointed to Share-a- Fish Commission by President Duterte. :wideyed: Fish caught by the time honored use of dynamic to catch fish will not be accepted but buried in a local land fill so no one else can eat the fish either.

Sorry some of the things the appointed politicians say here in the Philippines, just make me want to :vomit:, enjoy the humor.

Now this will be interesting to see it played out to the bitter end...

    Who deserves the P1-million reward?

PRESIDENTIAL Assistant for the Visayas Michael Lloyd Dino wants to create a committee that will verify who are qualified to claim the P1-million reward that President Rodrigo Duterte promised to give to anyone who can report on the whereabouts of the remaining Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) members in Bohol. Central Command Commander Oscar Lactao, Police Regional Office 7 Director Noli Taliño, Bohol Gov. Edgardo Chatto and the town mayors should sit down as members of the committee, Dino said. Dino said the police and military officials, including the local officials of Bohol, are the persons who best know the operations against the rebels since they have been on top of the monitoring and command of the government troops. “I suggested that they should create a committee. We have to create that committee to really know who are worthy of the P1 million reward,” he told reporters. During his visit to Bohol last April 19, before the second clash happened in Barangay Bacani, in the town of Clarin, Duterte offered a P1-million bounty for each of the seven remaining ASG members who engaged government troops in a gunfight in Barangay Napo, Inabanga, last April 11. Duterte ordered the capture of the seven bandits “dead or alive.” Last Saturday, a habal-habal driver tipped off the police that led to the second encounter between soldiers and police and the rebels that also resulted in the death of Joselito Melloria, a Boholano rebel, and three other members of the ASG. The Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) is handling the security of the tipster and also handles the recommendation for the reward, Taliño said. When asked if other informants like those kids who reported the sightings of the armed group in Inabanga are also entitled to the bounty, Taliño said he has no idea yet and will validate it first. Once they can verify the information, Dino said he will endorse it to the president, so the fund will be released. As to the offer of Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña to extend a P100,000 reward to the tipster if the local government of Bohol will not give any, Dino said it is a very good act of the mayor, but he should take care of his area first. “Cebu needs a lot of funds to be given to our police and military. For me, the police equipment, including the firearms and vehicles, and the allowances should be given first back to them. He is the mayor of Cebu City, not Bohol,” he said. Despite the negative feedback, Osmeña will still push for giving the reward to the tipster if the local government will not give him anything, as it will set an example to the public in reporting suspicious-looking people in the city. As to the request for the City Government to release P500,000 to each of the families of the four slain soldiers and policeman, Osmeña said he is still waiting for the approval of Pagcor as it is being supported by the City Council.
