I agree it was stupid of the soldier and he was way out of line (this is something that is done as a joke in the US.....but only amongst friends) but it was even more retarded for the little b*tch of a PNP officer with the man-bag to pull a gun out over it. That is what started the entire physical altercation. As soon as one of the drunk junior enlisted soldiers pointed at the gun, the NCO (the one standing closest to the camera) standing went for it. That is where the physical altercation begins.

Anyone that would pull a gun over some spilled beer should be disarmed and never be allowed to touch a firearm again. (And IMO should get thrown in prison for a few months.)

The soldier that tapped the bottle is very likely paying for it with tons of crappy extra duty, a loss of half his pay for 3 months and what little rank he had stripped away. He will learn this lesson the hard and expensive way.....but he should be thankful that some little b*tch didn't end his life over it.

Looks like the soldiers weren't at all interested in fighting.

......and then a soldier disarms him. PNP officer's pride severely damaged, he escalates it even further. Drunk cops should not be carrying their firearms to bars while getting sloshed. I thin the soldiers acted reasonably considering a firearm had just been pulled on them by a person not in uniform.

There was no need to escalate it over the slumped over cops beer overflowing. He was woken up and told about it and decided he didn't give a crap and went back to sleep.

The passed out guy was the one who originally had the man bag with the gun. His buddy was the one who thought it was a good idea to take it, and take it out and to quote the news story "brandish it". I watched the video a couple of times and if you do, you will see he wasn't too careful about where the muzzle was pointed while he was unwrapping it. If I hadn't done anything to him, I wouldn't have been too pleased with that and would have been considering ways he might be relieved of said pistol, which I would have trashed beyond repair. Once one displays a gun, it is not a magic wand rendering one invulnerable. Once you have shown it, you must be instantly ready to use it and don't allow anyone to get close to you. The entire purpose of a gun is to kill at a distance. The cop who had been very proud, gun in hand, was hardly even the same man when he realized he needed to go over and ask for his buddies gun back. You could see it in the set of his shoulders, before and after. A meat head and a hot head it looked like conspired to ruin everyone's fun.
