Some people drive at reasonable speeds, so drive fast and some drive slow. It doesn't matter on the vehicle in most cases, I have seen new SUV's and cars drive as slow as is possible. Sometimes I wonder if they need a push to get moving. Vehicle engines have limits, but mostly it is up to the person controlling the gas.

Not sure but I bet it wouldn't be a good idea for anyone to push the politicians too hard on showing where it went.

Big project means many opportunity to make money left and right, legal and not so legal. It got not so much to do with airplanes, even when it is called an airport.

I understand exactly that happened to several hotels in Boracay whose foreign “owners” purchased their land that way. There were a number of claims from descendant heirs of the original “mother titles” and I think there was no choice but to pay them to sign off if the cases were even resolved at all. Of course, where land titles are involved Filipino citizens would have to holders. But amongst local residents, it seems to work; a niece’s husband’s family has a beautiful lot (by tax declaration) on the beach in Siquijor where they built a large house from OFW money. I doubt that anybody would try to claim it right now but if foreigners are involved it would become a different story. Future heirs to the mother title could get greedy but there is some honor where foreigners are not involved.

Or imagine if someone used it to buy thousands of those ridiculously slow three wheeled chariot things. Those things should be banned from the roads. I regularly see them passed by bicycles. By far the most annoying and dangerous things on the road.

Let's hope the 500M does not get converted to SUV's because that would be about 250 Ford Raptors with the twin turbo diesel. The roads would become even more dangerous.

Been looking for almost 1 year now. Most land under 400P p/sqm I look at, is off kms of horrible barangay roads or title issues unless you are buying at least 5000sqm. The days of cheap land are over unless you are buying massive chunks. If you have some leads with costs you are speaking of, please forward to me, i'd be glad to have a look.

You will enjoy the peace and quiet 365 days a year (well, sort of - this IS the Philippines!) but only occasionally have a slightly longer journey to/from the airport at Sibulan - and you can enjoy the splendours of Sibulan at the same time. WIN-WIN!

I did wonder about the noise aspect of the new airport - at Sibulan there is a short route in/out over the airport itself and then immediately to the sea but at Bacong surely there would have been very many homes under the flight paths. I can't imagine anyone living in the area is too disappointed in losing the airport.-
