Removing the screen from the airbox might not be such a good idea either. That move might backfire on ya....
    (please forgive the pun)

The perforated aluminum plate (flame arrestor) the air filter has is highly restrictive and removing that will increase airflow considerably. It looks like the same air filter as used in the newer XR200's. FMF makes a exhaust system that will save a lot of weight and add HP. Disconnecting the O2 sensor will allow the bike to run in default mode which is richer than the stock setup. The better way around it is to buy an adjustable map setup or buy a FI controller that is premapped for that bike. The former option is a cheap way to make additional power. That was the point of the posting. It will void the warranty as well. These mods are an inexpensive starting point to get more HP from a bike that, as shipped from the factory is set up to create the least emissions and still run reasonably well. Other than Aprilia and KTM manufacturers ship their bikes highly restricted.

Mine does easily double of that, I have ridden from Duma to Bayawan and back on less than 4 liters, riding double and running mostly 70 to 80 KPH.
