That baffled me when I moved here at first. Even a few of the restaurants that cater to foreigners (you can telll by the prices) don't seem to get the concept that salad comes well before entree. I found a gentle solution to that. Order only what you want to arrive first, and ask to hold on to the menu. Once that course arrives, order your entree. It may take a bit more time to get through the meal, but at least you're not having your salad with your halo-halo.

Also, I question whether it is the role, or even the right, of foreigners to change things; the Philippines belongs to the Filipino people. Certainly we can make suggestions where we see a 'model' existing elsewhere which may better the country if adopted and we can start a business which competes in a different way and see if it is welcomed - but coming here to change things because they do not suit us is not our role in my opinion.- Agree x 3

Waited a week after the opening to try City Mall. I live in Valencia, so the traffic is vaguely the same for me no matter where I shop. Except for Lee Plaza, which is really my go-to preference for their larger choice in everything but food and hardware. But City Mall offerings seem meager by comparison even with Robinson Place. It didn't seem like Ace Hardware had anything more than Handyman; they just spread it out in a much larger space with aisles that are actually wide enough for two people to pass. City Mall food court is a major disappointment for me. All in all, little reason to visit City Mall again...at least until the grocery and theater open.

Galleon at City Mall: Sold me a 'Nokia' battery on the 9th August ... charged it first time and it lasted from a FULL charge for only 7 hours on STANDBY. Took it back but they refused to refund my money because "It is NOT an original" (they did NOT tell me that when I purchased it and it was in a Nokia packaging with an enclosed leaflet advising how to check the battery for authenticity). They would only give me a replacement! I know it is a big problem here for consumers but perhaps this is a store worth avoiding. Why for the sake of a relatively few pesos are they willing to lose all my future custom PLUS that of anyone who hears of my complaints and shuns them. In fact, my wife was going to buy two 5600 peso phones but decided now to go elsewhere. So shortsighted of retailers.

Some of you missed my point. I meant to write to them asking them to stock a certain imports or products in their stock ordering department but not to change their business model.
