Hello all. My name is Dan. I am a new member here on DI. I have been reading posts for awhile now and it's time to jump in. Seems to be a friendly and informative site and I have enjoyed it. I live in Nebraska USA, been married 26 years to my wife Mardie who is from Dumaguete. We have 3 kids, 2 boys 24 & 20 and a girl 14. The oldest is out of the house, and the other 2 are in school. I like to ride my motorcycle when it gets warm enough. It's been a long cold winter. We were back in Dumaguete 2 years ago, wife 2 youngest kids and me, and I did some scuba at apo island. Before that I had not dived for quite awhile.
My kids did snorkel and liked it. This past year they finished training and got their c card so we can dive together now. The lakes around here are no apo island, but it is a place to dive and get some experience. We will be back in dumaguete late may for a few weeks when my daughter gets out of school. We are a few years away from retirement yet, but plan to live at least part time near Dumaguete to start with. Love the PI, the people, weather and SMB. Happy to meet you all and look forward to more chats. Thanks.

    Us Too

I married Maria (from Dumaguete also), 23+ years ago in Silliman Church. I just turned 64 and "she still needs me and still feeds me when I'm 64". We moved here last June to stay. I have turned old fat and ugly over the last 23 years but my Dumaguete wife still loves me. I can't say enough about the love of Dumaguete women. I was divorced twice before maria and single for 9 years before we married.

Before I came to Dumaguete.....my friend of 35 years extolled the virtues of Dumaguete women....how unique they are...... I told him BS.....

I WAS WRONG.... and I am forever grateful I discovered how wrong I was.... my wife is the BEST thing ever in my life...... the only thing better than the love I have for her.....is the love she gives to me.....

Thanks all for the great welcome and reply. Your all right about a good woman. Mine has been very good and I could not do what I do without her. When I'm gone she takes care of everything. And to think when she first came to the US she had never driven a car. If our marriage survived me teaching her to drive, I think we can handle anything. Thanks again.
