A couple of thousands is quite optimistic I think as a discount on a motorbike when paying cash. More realistic is a couple of hundreds unless the motorbike is top of the range and over 500.000 peso.
Dealers in Europe are more than happy to sale a new car/motorbike cash on delivery with or without trade in.
But in the PH, as always, it's the opposite way.

You are a g0od negotiator. I could not get a single peso off the price of my RUSI. I asked the dealer what the "last price" was for cash and when she told me she would not budge from that price.

Well anyone with the BPi Bank can forget about that option as I already asked and was told a flat "NO"...

The Honda XR150L I bought at Du Ek Sam is listed at p83,500 or p81,000 cash. I paid p81,000 and they did not try or ask about any extras. Also came with helmet, t-shirt, and backpack.

Negotiating is some kind of an art not everyone can perform to get the best out of it but only as far as the dealer is willing to cooperate of course.

It is not so... the banks are looking at the following...
    How long with the bank?
The average amount being deposited monthly?
The average net amount in account monthly?
The total amount in account when applying for a loan?
Is the customer credit worthy? Any older loans with bank?
The bank is looking for customer Stability, Income and Spending, plus Collateral.
The bank is interested in making money from interest when giving a loan, and do
not want to take any chances with a lesser qualified customer, because they are not
    interested in repossessions.
Try to see it from the bankers side..... How would you do it if your were the banker?

Personally, when I lived in Duma between 2008 and 2012, I purchased 2 new Honda Motorbikes, and one car, and BPI financed all 3. When I moved to Bacolod City, I purchased a new car in 2014, and BPI was happy to finance the car for me..... I was told as a young man the following.....for whatever you need in life, never talk to the A S S, always talk to the HEAD of the company..... It has actually worked out very well for me following those words.

I have already been approved by the Bpi for a loan to buy a land or house as I receive in my pension more each month than the average Filipino earns in more than a year.
However; when I enquired regards a loan for a motor vehicle, I was told by the BPi Manager here in Dumaguete; "No Sir, we only do loans for land or house, for a Car or Bike, you need to source finance from a company that specialises in that"...
