Feb-Mar you would see the least amount of rain. Sept-Oct can be pretty wet and would fall in the typhoon season. June is usually the worst month for rain.

Considering the direction this thread has taken, I would say that PatO is very perceptive. I would also say that your crow is served, would you like salt with that?

there's actually probably a higher proportion of younger gringos or tourists in the Dumaguete region per capita than anywhere else in the Philippines. If you really want to stand out from the old-guy foreigner crowd you should be looking at Cagayan de Oro or Bacolod.

From chatting with people that have lived in Dumaguete, they have told me I wont see many out and about (clubs, bars, malls, ect). I not to worried or concerned with the "passing through" crowd that goes straight to the diving spots / islands.

With that said, there will still be gringos and even some young ones in Dumaguete. I will just have to deal with it.

I do plan to check out Bacolod though as its not that far from Dumaguete. Will actually be meeting a number of girls from Bacolod.

no you won't see all that many under 30s. You will however see proportionally more in that particular region than you will than anywhere else in the Philippines. What passes for the Philippines backpacker trail has Dumaguete and Siquijor as two of its main components. Camiguin is another one where you see a few. Ditto the diving and surfing places : Moalboal, Malapascua, Siargao etc. Some of them can stay in those places for quite a long time. There are also more 'gringo' under 30s in Manila than you might think - that is by far the biggest student destination. Mormon missionaries who could be anywhere and charity workers in religous orphanages which are usually in cities can also often be under 30. Bacolod there are hardly any younger ones. Less than in Cagayan de Oro.

Yea there area many in Manila. But they are easily avoided by going to Quezon City.

Each night I went out to party in Quezon City, felt like I had the area to myself.

There appears to be something very strange with this post. Seems to take bits and pieces of what others have said.

There's his post. Here is part of an earlier post I made.

" Don't worry about your bike getting jacked. Most places have guards and people won't really mess with your bike anyways. Just don't leave your key I am the ignition or helmet o the the bike. Once I accidentally left the keys in my CBR 1000RR Fireblade in Bacolod. An hour later some filipino brought the keys up and told me I forgot them in the bike."

Given the typos in certain locations, it appears that my post was put in a bad translator program, translated back into english and then reposted. Spam bot this wanker is.
