So would I, You need to check them individually for failed ones. You can buy special clips to hold them together. I would Not attempt it. No patience at all.
EV batteries are made with these sort of batteries.

There are design measures to deal with that. In all cases, li-ion battery PACKS are just a combination of many smaller 3.7V series/parallel configurations. In this case you are essentially making your own packs. For a large battery pack one might want to insert thermocouples or other devices to monitor for overheating and some circuit to disconnect if it got too hot or if the charge got too low (in both cases of which explosive reactions could occur). You also would want to take great care to keep charging voltage per cell to 4.2v or less. These are common measures taken by the laptop computer industry (of which I used to be a part) and I suspect the auto industry dies the same. You locate the pack such that heat distribution is fairly even. But if you are paying $5000 for cells, these protection circuits are very cheap. They may even be available in the market (not sure). Safety is not a deal breaker by any means. Of course, you would normally store it in a separate fireproof enclosure; I would just use cement blocks and have good ventilation.

Most likely constructed that way to provide structural strength.

Just a thought, but i'm not sure it's a redundancy problem, i think it's more of a problem in the distribution system. The NGCP 69kva system runs on STEEL towers, noreco's two-blackouts-this-month are for "changing wooden poles." So why not just disconnect the wooden pole circuits from the 69KVA system. Because the DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM is fooked up. Noreco's managers can't be that stupid, there just aren't enough cut off switches, ???? Makes no sense !!!...

It's like the water system in the province. There is NO, repeat NO, water problem anywhere. I guarantee (almost) that if you actually plugged or repaired every leaking hose, you would have probably 30 % more water. That's a guess, based on water running down the roads of the province.

    I don't know.
Not all of the 69kv transmission line is on steel towers. There are sections through town that are still on wooden poles. You can see the new steel poles next to them waiting for the lines to be transferred.

Wow, didn't know that, I thought all the 69 lines were a couple km's up the hill. Curious where it goes thru a town ?? Are you sure they are part of the 69 system running down the province backbone, or branches, which could be cut out ??

Hello, great to meet you. Although you must be a nice guy, you are for some reason stalking my posts for and giving them troll ratings. Not that I care but now I have good reason to put you on my “ignore” list in an honest effort to avoid more stupid controversies. Have a great evening
