I don't care for the ending. Weird Al's song kind of makes it seem as if we are a militarily weak and are trembling in fear of their "dear leader". Could easily be used as propaganda for the regime.
What a nice guy........... North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un said Tuesday he would hold off on a planned missile strike near Guam, but warned the highly provocative move would go ahead in the event of further "reckless actions" by Washington. Note to self......don't bluff someone who clearly has the upper hand.
Regardless, the regime has continued to survive and clearly has nuclear weapons. If these items are number #1 and #2 on your daily to-do list, then N. Korea has been successful. China is the player which can really move the chains. So far, they have been reluctant.
I don't think the chubby dear leader has an upper hand in anything. He is desperate to remain in power. NK is weaker than the US in almost every category I can think of. It might be worth noting that we, the US, regularly send naval fleets to do war games off their coasts quite regularly. A US carrier group is much more dangerous to NK (and pretty much anyone else) than a few nuclear warheads are to the US (yeah, it would suck....but wouldn't do anything but unite the US, and all of NATO, in an all out war against whoever detonated it on civilians). Testing missiles off US territory in international waters is just their version of what we are doing. However, I don't believe we launch missiles or have war games within NK territorial waters. NK needs to be very careful with that launch. This technology is new to them and if they make a small mistake in the programming of their coordinates a missile could very well land in US territorial waters. If such a thing were to happen then I think the US should send a very strong message to NK (publicly announce "missile tests" and then send a hundred or so guided missiles landing right in waters of NK's most active port as a "test"). If it were to hit US land then I think it's time for an all out war. If China were to have an issue with that, well then....p*ss on them. I doubt China (or Russia) would be willing to actually fight that fight. Their economies and hold on power in their countries are far too fragile without the West. If a missile landed on a US territory give China the option to completely cut off any support too the regime in NK and stand back to watch or to prepare themselves for war.
I think he meant the US has the upper hand and N. Korea's "reckless actions" statement was a sign of backing down and saving face.
Absolutely ... give in once and you give in forever. If anyone hits you then hit them back, but much harder.
Just wondering, in Latin para vellum means "or war", not "prepare for war", correct? (Studied Latin 50 years ago). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Maybe context? Also, para bellum. Si vis pacem, para bellum - Wikipedia This saying is the reason why I thoroughly research anything I plan on having tattooed on my body. There was a "typo" on my tattoo of this saying. The extra letter has nearly faded off, so it's good now....only took nearly 15 years.
