⌛ Not to Stereotype, but what's Dumaguete famous for among Filipino people?

1. what is the regional character of the people in general? ie. Ilocos are thrifty hard working, etc..beside the usual city of gentle people.
2. what are their famous regional foods there? what are they called?
3. is there alot of local tourism there..internal tourism among other Filipinos?
4. I know camiguin has different rainy season? when is the rainy/dry season there? Does it ever get cool ..cool breezes at night where one has to wear a light jacket?
5. is there a high rate of outmigration of the youth to Cebu? What are the local wages like compared to cebu or manila..say in the service sector..hotel/restaurant/retail...

Paparayno. I guess for you, you should do an actual experience coming to dumaguete for you to search and enjoy the life here than the usual tagalog like ilocos. Philippines is a very diverse but there is something for you to experience more in our place. Bear with me. After coming back it wont be the same again. I would like to answer some of your questions. 1. Our city is called the city of gentle people. it speaks for itself. It is generalized that we are all the same but here you can tell the people are disciplined and peaceful loving people well there is nowhere else you can find but here. 2. One of the famous foods that we have is binakhaw or you can call it in tagalog kinilaw. 3. Internal tourism is a must here. Because all of the people want to enjoy good things in nature and specially dumaguete and its neighboring towns that has a lot to offer. We also have apo that is a marine sanctuary. If you want to climb a mountain we also have Mt Talinis. there is so much here. It is not only that you dont need to have lots of money because it is so cheap in here.4. Philippines is a tropical country so it is much the same in camiguin or anywhere else in the country. Unless you are in higher elevation. so it is all the same. 5. Outmigration of youth to cebu is not much because it is only they want to work. But some also from cebu come to dumaguete to work also. The cost of living in cebu and manila and dumaguete and ilocos is not the same. It is much cheaper here and surely the salary does not level up to the manila salary.

If i were you. You better try coming to dumaguete and have your vacation here. you can tell the big difference when you come to dumaguete and have fun. Just real nature adventure.....
