My son's passport renewal is being held up because my approval must be notarized by a "U.S. commissioned notary". I am disabled and I could not travel to Cebu for the interview. The U.S. consulate would not accept the notarization of a Philippine attorney. I could travel by car to Dumaguete. Does anyone know of a "U.S. commissioned notary"?
Surprised the Consulate gave you no options, hope this helps...... https://ph.usembassy.gov/message-fo...ervices-during-the-ongoing-covid-19-pandemic/ Topic has been brought up here before here (but it is dated way back) none the less it may help. https://dumagueteinfo.com/board/threads/us-notary-in-dumaguete.8243/
I had the same problems this year - son's passport expiration, disability. We ended up having a helper drive us to Cebu and assisting me. That was the only solution I could find. It is mandatory to have all required paperwork ready. Updated passport mailed to our home.
