I went from 86kg to 72kg in about one year.
I was not obsessed about my weight but wanted to reduce it a bit. My exercise routine was zilch! I just checked my food intake for calories and stuck to about 1400 per day. Now I do it intuitively.
I am not intending to go anorexic so am now getting back up to about 74/75 - which I think is about right for me.
My asawa started before me and has lost about 1kg - as they say, Filipinos don't get it.

This is something I've been touting at every possible opportunity since kids have been locked down. Our son went from playing football (soccer!) 5 days per week to virtually zero exercise overnight. His diet has not changed significantly, but as he's around the house all day there's the obvious temptation to raid the fridge for cola, snack on biscuits etc.
There will be future consequences on health for this extended and unnecessary lockdown of kids, but of course, the politicians will be able to just brush it under the carpet. Their thinking unfortunately does not extend beyond having a long list of anti-Covid restrictions.
The only kids you will see out on the streets at the moment are the beggars, car park loiterers, shopping trolley returners and sitting at roadside vendors'. None of these wear masks and they are never moved on, or their parents (assuming they are traceable) taken to task.- Agree x 2

i have to say this topic really mystifies me. i just checked the world factbook on obesity by country published by the CIA and found in wiki which ranks the philippines as number 168 out of 191 countries. US is number 12. no dates were noted in my very brief look at this for what period was used for this data but i assume fairly recently. what am i missing here? i have not personally witnessed what i thought was any significant obesity here. just asking- Agree x 2

The best, and most reliable, way to lose weight is to weigh your food and track the calories. I track everything; my weight, total calories and macros daily, every exercise and kilo lifted in the gym, daily steps, amount of time sleeping, weekly body composition, etc. The more data you have the easier controlling your weight becomes. There are Excell spreadsheets out there that can do the maths for you as well.
There are also apps for making all this data tracking much easier and less time consuming. I only spend about 5 minutes a day tracking everything.
When you do all this switching between bulking/cutting/maintenance is like flipping a switch. If someone tells me they can't lose weight or that diet and exercise isn't working for them I know they are doing it wrong or putting in minimal effort. It really isn't as complicated or difficult as some make it to be and there is no "secret" to it.

just back from a very poor part of bayawan and its not true there
philippine legislature reportedly is considered a food relief bill for children aged 3 to 5 to give them more nutrition since they are supposedly most at risk. be interesting to know how parents with multiple children will handle that idea if it comes to fruition
to the best of my knowledge there have only been two food distributions in negros. early on was a federal relief of 6 kilos of rice and 1 kilo of sardines to every household. when that got to bayawan it was 2 kilos of rice per household. phil star reports 90 barangay captains are under investigation for misappropriation of food relief plus a number of other people
the last food relieve in dgt city was 25 kilo bag of rice to everyhousehold
i am not aware of any other relief from the govt since this started. anyone know more? i am just thinking if the kids are getting fat i am not sure it has anything to do with government handouts which might be more compatible with popcorn- Informative x 2
