What prohibits you from doing this here? Seems all the ingredients are available locally.

I know you guys from North America (with a nod to Crystal who I know is Canadian) like to mix your mains and sweets, but that all sounds a bit much!

We are making biscuits and sausage gravy at the Valencia market on Sunday. We make the sausage, the biscuits and the gravy from scratch. I was born in Memphis and lived in North Mississippi for 25 years. I've been making biscuits and gravy all my life. Most think they are pretty good. PJ's is getting an order of my biscuits tomorrow if you want to try them. He makes his own gravy.

Thanks, Just my taste but gravy has to be eaten right from the skillet as it is a perfect mixture of fat and dairy and does not age well... same for biscuits... but thanks just the same

yeah, gravy i make at home is part of my regular diet plan, lol. love it made with tuna on toast.

but biscuits no way. no oven. tried to make in cast iron pot but they are edible is all i could say about them. not sure the flour here is really suitable for baking anyway. i enjoy some of the breads available at why not et cet far more than anything i have made at home.

plus it all makes no sense for me to allow it to become an issue since weight control is my biggest personal battle!! but thanks for the ideas

If you go to the Valencia Sunday market to JD's stall I believe it is straight from the pan. (Well, you aren't allowed to eat directly from the pan but the pan is only a few feet away.)

I still cannot get my head around this biscuits and gravy thing. Is beef and custard on the menu too?
