    Hello there

Just talked myself out of Boracay upon discovery of this region

Considering spending time in the Pandan & Apo areas - can someone please fill me in regarding weather - I would hate to go all that way and not be able to see underwater life in clarity

Any help would be most appreciated!

    Regards,

    S

HeHe, If you want to go diving there is no need to go to Boracay anyway...
The weather and conditions in the Dumaguete Apo Island area are usually ok during Oct/Nov. Due to the rough surface and the bottom conditions we had last year some days where the vis dropped below 10 Meters at the coastline. But also 30+ when it was calm. When Puerto Galere was hit by the 2 Typhoons we had both times crystal clear water(flat like a mirror) and the bluest sky, without any clouds. When I called my friends in PG (before all lines broke down) they could not believe our weather down here.

    cheers

    Thanks for the info

But alas, i'm just a snorkler, considering taking up diving

Would my snorkling experience be affected by current weather conditions?

Snorkeling is always effected when the water is rough, but as Aop Island is a very small Island there is always one protected side. The Dumaguete area has 2 big nice sanctuarys for snorkeling where the coralgardens start 1 meter below the surface. The Neighbor-Island of Siquijor has also some worldclass snorkeling in the shallow areas.
Depanding on the way you travel, from Dumaguete you are fast in Bohol, Apo, Siquijor, there are many things to exlor in and outside the water...

    cheers
