There is a very clear difference between trolling and expressing a different, and sometimes unpopular, opinion. Trolls consistently take those unpopular opinions, usually state them as fact and then utilize antagonizing and provocative language to get a rise out of other members in an attempt to get them to lash out and break forum rules. Trolls contribute nothing to forums as their only goal is to stir sh*t and rarely, if ever, contribute anything useful. Most forum moderators and admins can quickly identify these types as we deal with it way too often.

As for free speech, your definition is incorrect: you have no freedom of speech on or in privately owned property, and that could be a person's or a business' property (this includes social media and websites). Free speech means the government cannot restrict your free speech, not private entities. You think you could walk into Robinson's Mall, a Seven Eleven or someone's private property and walk up to people that aren't interested and start yelling and screaming a bunch of nonsense just to get a reaction? You would be escorted off the property in short order and possibly arrested for harassment for practicing your "free speech". The same applies to websites. You only have a right to free speech on government property...unless you are a foreigner in the Philippines, then your free speech is extremely limited. If you don't believe that then I challenge you to go down to the boulevard and partake in some political activism. Let me know how that goes.

With that being said, this is not a debate. Your definition of what a troll is is completely irrelevant and unneeded. The forum moderators and admins here know what one is and they will remove them regardless of your opinion on it. Have a good one.

I agree it could be offensive to some and is needlessly so; being called stupid would be offensive to most, and is even more needless.

thank you for your kind words. There is no issue with beer and Christianity the alcohol issue is only with man's religion. This brings on an issue with how some Christians view beer or any alcohol but it is not an issue to me. I drink one beer maybe every 3 months or so. I think it is good for the system.
When I said I would gladly have a conversation with you I had in mind explaining the facts that surround the fulfilled prophecy in scripture, which I think you said you would be interested in hearing. I realize that you are not interested in my faith and I have no problem with that. I also am keenly aware that almost no one cares what I think and I have gotten used to that. I too wish you the best.

I think that is not wise and probably under informed. They are now finding that a large percentage of those who recover from the initial pulmonary component of covid do end up with other forms of permanent damage either to lungs, heart, kidneys, or neuro damage to the brain which are often not easily recognized until much later. The effects on sense of smell and taste are well documented, and even those who recover and didn't completely lose those senses many do have sensory reduction. There are many cases now being seen of recovered individuals several months post-infection starting to show signs of bipolar mood swings and depression. Many recovered cases who at first think they got of easy are finding later that they are left with reduced lung function and heart function as well as damage to other organs in the body. This is NOT a version of the flu, this is a serious disease, and you really do not want this thing in your body even if you have near 100% odds of surviving the initial attack on the lungs.

Having viewed this forum topic, with great interest, for over ten years and with different ownership, I have concluded it is indeed private property and subject to the rules of the owner. It is what it is.

I don't see why anyone should be offended. You have the right to state your opinion on any subject, the same as everyone else. We have free will to read it or not. As Rye said, there is also an 'off' button for a whole thread which can be used.

I think what non-believers object to is if someone of Faith pins them down and insists on them listening to something they are not interested in - but that is not the case here. Just read a posting if you want and ignore it if you don't. By all means, have a conversation about it if the ideas interest you, but keep it pleasant and respectful. The conversation should be about different views, not a lecture on why one is wrong.

Negative ratings lessen the load on moderators and works as way for members to self-moderate. If new users, or those with few posts, get enough of them (based on a posts:negative ratings ratio) from members they will automatically get temporarily banned and make it to where their posts need moderator approval before going public...getting a high enough ratio will result in a permanent ban. If you see the gray "Infamous" banner next to a username this is usually the reason for that. It has worked well at quickly removing trolls and idiots from the forum so far...so long as the feature isn't abused by members: https://dumagueteinfo.com/board/members/?type=negative_ratings
This is why those who abuse the feature will quickly earn warning points and/or lose their ability to give ratings.
