It's not a matter of total assurance, it is a matter of minimizing risk. Physical distancing and everybody wearing a mask HUGELY reduces the risk.
Here's another article about the unexpected "features" of that virus: https://elemental.medium.com/corona...isease-which-explains-everything-2c4032481ab2 After reading that and a few others I personally went from "oh well if I catch it I'll recover quickly so what" to "Lets just try a bit harder not to catch it".
From the article: From another article: Preexisting conditions. These conditions are just not that common in younger people, which is why you don't see a high mortality rate in those under 45. The numbers just aren't all that scary for younger people.
The numbers of fatalities in the USA are now going up alarmingly. also the general infection rate is now sky-rocketing so you can see clearly the evidence of not taking care of yourself operating right before your eyes in the USA. Totally out of control and its going to get worse over there before it gets better. The USA now accounts for 25% of those dead world wide without 25% of the population. Europe and some other countries are seriously considering travel bans out of the USA and so they should. Spreading the news that wearing masks does nothing or virtually nothing to help is just wrong. Masks and social distancing have been show to work but this is being ignored in the USA, especially by example and statements from those supposedly who should know better, or do know but are just too stupid (Manly?) to follow it.
The number of obese /unhealthy people is alarmingly high. And of course, there's the large protest groups and riots all over the country huddled together, etc.
Yes, in total disregard to all advice on how to contain the spread so the hospital system can handle the work load and reduce the deaths hopefully.
My post here about Filipino youth attitude to safety has been moved to 'Off Topic'. Presumably the Moderator that did this could not see the relationship to younger peoples' attitude to safety measures to mitigate against virus spread, as this was in response to a similar comment. Maybe it was too subtle? Just checking so that I know how to word things in the future.
Yes Cant say I understand either when we are only ofering thoughts on what is safe, what the implications are, but, thats what has been done and who are we to complain.
You aren't the first and won't be the last that a certain moderator feels they have to exercise some power.
Your posts (along with some 30 odd other posts, including some of my own) were off topic in a thread about restaurants remaining open. That is the only reason they were moved here. Feel free to carry on the conversation here and go on as many tangents as you like.
