Hey king of off topic, how does it feel? Lol is it aggravating to have people rate your post as off topic? Asking for a friend. Lol.
Fair cop guv (Cockney). I appreciate my up-rating to Royalty (a KING indeed). You are a great guy and all the people who work here are great guys - very special people. (Said by a clown). I certainly am not offended BUT I was totally unaware I ever went off-topic.
Non, mon ami - C'est bien que je fasse l'objet d'une expérience. Je suis étonné d'être un roi - c'est tout ce que j'ai toujours voulu. Alors, comment va ton ami?
I understand, your Highness. I honestly feel kind of special... Like a royalty. People has to make an effort of clicking on my comment to see them. An micro ounce of their strength to see what I have to say (that made it off topic lol). I feel empowered.
The system works well - as those who don't like off-topic humour can skip over it. Those who enjoy it can continue to do so. And, as a bonus, Mr Rye gives us more ratings than he has ever done before (but now cannot rate a comment funny if he wants to, if at the same time it is off-topic). I think the interesting thing will be when other members start doing 'off-topic' ratings and the rated person starts to disagree!
This one is on topic as there is something I forgot to mention with this hidden message thing. If enough users give positive ratings (thanks/like/agree/winner/genius) to a hidden post it will be unhidden automatically. If 33% of a post's ratings are negative (off-topic/abhorrent/trolling) they will remain hidden. I guess it makes it a bit more democratic and gives members the ability to veto off-topic/negative ratings if they can obtain a super-majority vote on it.
Very fair. But are 'funnies' counted for Revelation (Sing Choirs of Angels)? If you give an off-topic rating and others follow, they cannot be guilty of doing so for bad reasons - even though I know one here who would do that. Also, it may be that a posting is off/on/off/on/off/on (as in the tart's knickers) as ratings are added.
They are neutral. I doubt it. There really aren't that many ratings given to any one post. I suspect if it is hidden it will get even less ratings than it normally would.
I was confused before Covid, now I'm even more confused How can a Off Topic Forum be off topic? Maybe there's something in the drinking water?
Perhaps it was a jest to put it in the off-topic section - but the truth is that a person here (who shall remain nameless, or shall be called 'Fred' (but which is nothisrealname)) does tend to go off-topic a wee bit and needed to be tied down (any ladies willing to do so, please reply at fred@tiemedownforadollar.com).
