:eek: Hubby and I were taking an early morning stroll on the Boulevard this morning. He was looking over the edge and said, "someone just went in there", pointing to one of those holes where water flows from under the street. I was standing there peering, trying to see that someone could actually go into the hole, and wondering why someone would go in there, and the next thing I saw was a large (HUGE actually) piece of feces (a turd) come rolling out with the water!!! I started gagging as I realized just why he went in there...........ummmm, word to the wise, DON'T go wading in the water on the Boulevard!!!:eek:

Perhaps people along the gulf of Mexico don't have that problem because of environmental rules, but i don't know if it is much better there.

It's only twenty years or so that the UK cleaned up it's act, before raw sewage was dumped into the waters around it's shores. Only as part of the EEc did things start to improve.
As for the disaster off the coast of Mexico, that is down to two things Man's greed for oil and human error. My simple feelings are that if you extract billions gallons of fluid from the Earth disaster's will happen one way or another...JB

Reminds me of W.C. Fields who said " I never drink water because of the disgusting things fish do in it". :D

It sure as h*ll wasn't the latter, it was gross negligence, complete disregard for peoples safety, (11 lives vanished in an instant), not to mention cost cutting on a scale that should have bankrupted BP worldwide, unfortunately it didn't, more's the pity. The murdering ratbags.

EEErrr, the Deepwater rig was American owned, sub-contracted from an American company, operated by American workers, and issued with safety certificates by the American authorites. BP seems to be the convenient scape-goat here.

If BP had gone bankrupt, a vast amount of American pensions would have gone to the wall with it. Kind of throwing the baby out with the bath water !!
