Well, I was looking forward to see that fight. As of now it is on ice. Reason, Manny Pacquiao does not agree to the doping test under the regulations of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.

His Promoter Arum explains : "He doesn't want to use them. They're so inflexible they can't be used."

Hmmm, what does that mean . They're so inflexible they can't be used, that is too funny. Here are some options for the real meaning of that sentence:

    "We can't pay them off."
"What ???? I am from the Philippines, cheating is lifestyle, why you can't accept that"
"How should I have a chance against Mayweather without using illegal substances"
"I did no know that Red Horse is on the Black List of forbidden substances"
"That is unfair, my Roosters never got blamed by any commission when I inject them the stuff for cock-fighting, so why can't I use it ???"
"The stuff I take is not for doping purpose, it just helps my 5,3 beard-hairs growing"

The Pacquiao Camp want to discuss with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. A possible resolution that had been discussed would allow USADA to do limited testing. Manny's Camp don't want to allow the Agency to test him before the fight... Isn't that the whole point of a doping test to ensure that the fighter goes undoped into a fight ???

I read in another paper that the fight might be later that year. Well, it takes about 6 - 8 month to wash several doping stuff out of the blood, so let's wait and see if there will be a fight in the second half of 2010.

Whatever the "real" reason is, the whole thing leave a very bad fishy smell...

Hmmm...isn't this a way of stalling the fight so that the date will finally coincide with Phil. elections scheduled in May, 2010, thus giving a chance to government candidates to gain the hearts of the voters as they wave and share the victory or whatever of Pacman. Just my two cents.

I would put this one on Mayweather. From what I can see, Pacquiao being called the best pound for pound fighter in the world brought out Mayweather to fight again. Pacquiao can still make money and I believe he is nearing retirement anyways. He has pretty much done all he can do in the boxing world and all that is left is to make more money.

I don't know how often testing schemes such as the one proposed by Mayweather are used, but it seems like it might be unusual for the boxing world. Manny has agreed to a blood test "before the kick-off press conference" and right after the fight, but the sticking point seems to be the possibility of random tests leading right up to the time of the fight.

It would be interesting to compare the testing demands of this fight to other sports and past fights.

In any case, Mayweather was retired and I'm not sure he can really go anywhere from here. He just needs to go back to his retirement home and shut up.

well, Pacman fought and agreed in his former fights only to the "Nevada" regulations where there is no blood-test, while (in Europe anyway) most places in the states going for the "Olympic testing" with frequent blood and Urin tests.

Anyway, i contacted Pacmans Camp and ordered some of the stuff, It will be a delayed x-mas gift for one of our members, maybe it helps him also to grow some balxx to follow the Danes invitation of visiting him in Luzon ... :p

I guess Manny really doesn't understand

what this makes him look like to the rest of the world. I am a fan of Manny but going this route shames him. It is so very sad that he will let his carrier go down the drain because this is not something that will go away..

well, I just read another official statement that he is scared of needles...

Yeah right, you really can notice the panic, scared, soon to pass out, almost dying, hyperventilating, near death experience look in his eyes on the picture below, taken while getting a tattoo

In one of the quotes I read Manny said he does not want to give blood before the fight because he firmly believes that it makes him weak. Going into a fight one has to be prepared both physically and mentally. He may be 100% physically before the game but if he is only 75% mentally because of what he percieved make him weak, then it is a disadvantage. Sounds like a cop out to us but people with strong beliefs are hard to convince otherwise.

Nevertheless, I don't see anything wrong about him getting the drug test after the fight. Whatever he used before the fight could and will still show up after the fight, so what's the big deal. Mayweather's camp knowing that Manny does not want blood test before the fight, on the other hand, may be using this as a ploy to get out of the fight, which Mayweather is rumored to have very little interest in. It could be a mind game that the Mayweather camp is waging right now. Manny could be drawing from public opinion to boost his power of invinsibility. If people start to doubt him, he can go into the fight thinking of redemption instead of his fight plan, which is again a disadvantage. In this mind game, Mayweather is ahead.

Needle and tattoo are not comparable when your talking about people being scared of needle. I have seen this many times. Even drug addicts would jump out of bed when a nurse comes near them with a needle to draw blood or give injections. Many would volunteer to get their own blood if the nurse would give them the needle and syringe. Again, it is about perception and not the pain of the needle prick itself. Our mind is a powerful ally and an even more powerful enemy.

    Just my worthless opinion....
