Dang, I guess you shouldn't smuggle heroin in Pakistan. I don't think it was a recent rule change. He knew the risks.

You should not shoot your employer in the head (filipino's action) and then run over his head with his car as you try to escape. That results in beheading. Honestly I think that shooting the employer alone should have been enough but I am not a lawyer. Thank God they do not behead people here in the Philippines, as it would be messy with all the blood on the street during the election season. Bullets generally cause a lot more blood shed with just as many deaths. Just pay the blood money...BTW.. what is a human life worth today in the Philippines with the suki rates? or does it depend on who is paying?

I can understand the Filipino resisting and being annoyed, if he was pressured into Muslim prayers, when he is a Christian, He probably thought his response was reasonable and appropriate at the time. However the Authorities there would certainly not have agreed.:(

The Filipino killed someone, I can understand the death penalty for that. It's not only muslims who have the death penalty. The French last used the guillotine back in the 70's if I'm not mistaken. Many states in America still practice the death penalty today. I think some people really deserve it, though it should be reserved for those that we are 100 percent certain that they have done the crime.

Agreed, but the problem is who makes the decision on 100% certain - because we know the Jury system is not perfect, and circumstantial evidence is no where near enough, and eye witnesses can be mistaken, or liars -
