Curious to learn what you mean by: saved quite a lot of money, what amount to compare with what I have been paid throughout the years for a tourist visa.

My partner used JRC Visa Agency I paid them 16K............I paid 6K PHP five years ago but we went to the Jay Mall in Cebu. My partner new one of the staff there, but he has retired now. So its probably 8K now plus air fares 2 days accommodation food drinks etc it would cost well over 16K

Australian on a Tourist Visa said to me he pay about 26K PHP to renew his visa for the year. He goes home for 2 weeks comes back and starts the whole year again.
I pay 315 pesos for the whole year.

I just paid 15k for 13a card renewal, the one in Robinson's mall top floor. All I need to do now is wait.

315 peso for a whole year sounds good, but you forget to include the application fee and more costs to get that 13A visa which is not for free of course. The only advantage as I see it, you just have to visit Immigration once a year in Dumaguete or Cebu while on a tourist visa the visits are more frequently if you extend every 2 months, though 6 months is also possible and will reduce the number of visits accordingly.
The amount of 26k, you are referring to does not match with the cost I pay for one year i.c. 16k.

How much is a 6 month extension visa in the Philippines?
    "); display: inline-block; height: 24px; width: 24px; transform: rotateZ(-180deg);">

9(a) or Temporary Visitor's Visa in the Philippines
    Type of TVE Task
1-Month Extension after 6 months of stay 7,340.00
2-Month Extension after 6 months of stay 8,640.00
    6-month Extension 17,400.00
Fine for Late Filing of TVE (for every month of delay) 1,010.00

You pay 16K for the whole year thats great well done

If you are referring to Barclays and other banks closing ex-pat accounts, they think we are more trouble than it is worth (to be fair to them, this is based partly on what governments now expect them to do to the ordinary man that they don't do to the crooks).

Many governments now print money in times of financial crises and give it cheaply to banks - so why do they want our piffling amounts?

I moved a significant sum of money to another country before I left home but did not make any further transactions - so after a few months they closed the account. You have to be a cash cow for them or they are not interested.
