They cover only a couple outpatient events but often if you can get it taken care of in the ER it may be covered. Phil Health only covers you in approved hospitals, which in NegOr means hospitals within Dgte City. The Blue Cross coverage from the office just to the west of SUMC is a little more expensive but may be the only insurance company other than PhilHealth that covers you after 65yo. (It's not the same Blue Cross as in USA)

I think each PH policy gives you 45 days of in patient coverage a year. It does cover kidney dialysis for 45 visits btw. They have all new Braun machines and are adding a room with 20 chairs to replace the current 6 chair facility.

For p2400 it pretty much can't be beat. They told me me that blood work would be covered for example.

It is for hospitalization and helps a lot. Highly recommended. You will be covered on your wife's coverage. I get it for my inlays as well so we don't get hit too hard if there becomes a problem.

Am single, signed up at the main Daro office, took my gf to translate and help with the forms. A bit of a hassle, but it went more smoothly when I realized I could get quick service in the senior citizens line. You’ll need your passport and at least one picture. Advice: get there early in the morning before they get too crowded, and be patient. At the cost I can’t see any reason not to have it.

Dave, we signed there in the mall, I think we pay p2,400 year but you cannot pay there, you have to go next door and pay in western union and then go back with your reciept.
I think all you need is birth certificate and maybe id.

PhilHealth is now free to senior citizens. For those the already have it you should go to an office to collect your Lifetime Member MDR(Members Data Record) It does pay out well although you have to pay out initially. If you require hospital admittance stick out for the PhilHealth rooms.

I did have a foreigner friend who had signed up under a promo here with Phil Health. I do not know the specifics, it was about a year ago, and Phil Health was having membership push. He only stays here 6 months out of the year.
I will post the results of my effort, successes and failures here.

I have heard of a few foreigners signing for philhealth recently, they were not married either, I think it was in Cebu though.
They were not asked abouts being married or residency issues.
