MANILA, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Personal remittances from overseas Filipinos surged by 11 percent to 2.33 billion U.S. dollars in March, the highest monthly growth registered in 15 months, the Philippine central bank said Friday. Central bank Governor Amando Tetangco Jr. said the March remittances brought the first quarter figures to 6.414 billion U.S. dollars, 5.1 percent higher from 6.1 billion U.S. dollar a year ago.
