hmmmm, the timing is strange to me. The report says it was found at approximately 8:21 this morning - yet my wife showed me a list of the missing phones serial and imei numbers on facebook last night.
That sucks for the business. I recently bought a new phone there that I had to wait a couple weeks for it to arrive. I'm hoping police are doing a proper job on the investigation. My first stop would be Handyman to secure cashier video taps and start matching up the times, purchases, and faces. Soon as a face is discovered if its not recognizable by the business or photo's the police have post it all across the city. Someone is going to come forward if not many saying who and then swoop in but then I'm also a fan of holding immediate family accountable to an extent as well if the family would have had any idea that said individual was engaged in criminal activity.
From what I've read it's the second time they have been hit. I have also bought phone's from them and they were very good to deal with.
Many countries laws agree. Its called harboring a fugitive, accessory after the fact, or simple accessory. If someone has reasonable suspicion a crime is about to take place or did take place they have a legal obligation to inform law enforcement authorities.
Of course, but this does not apply to just family...and you have to be able to prove that they knew the family member committed a crime before you can do anything to them and knowing that someone knew something before hand is pretty difficult to determine since we can't read minds. However, I misread your post first time, I did not see that it was an "if statement".
