    I don't know about houses and property but many restaurants/bars/businesses that cater to Koreans tend to be quite noticably more expensive than other businesses in the area selling the exact same product.

    I think Jack was saying you shouldn't mention that you will be buying the lot to build a second house. Many Filipino will likely never own one house.

    You should avoid showing up with anyone or saying anything that may make the property owner feel that you have more money than you need.

    They could only own the house, but not the actual land the house is on, if they aren't Philippine's citizens (which they might be). It may be worth checking into the new condo's supposedly going up by the boulevard. I guess it would all depend on how much rent the land-owner wants to charge.....
    Some here assume the OP is Asian and her husband is not. I speak from experience....I was married to a Filipino man and I am very white....quite the opposite of what is presumably the norm in the Philippines. They might both be Filipino's, just living in Korea, or HE might be the Filipino. It is true, though, if you are obviously a foreigner, they will want to charge you much more for everything, and having a Filipino liaison is in the foreigner's best interest.
