    Even after the diet, an electric scooter probably could not handle my large, um........frame! :D

    I saw those there the other day, too. I am kind of stupid about these things, but I can't figure out why it has pedals? Is that just back up for the electric charge runs out?

    You get what you pay for. Those bikes are definitely junk. An acquaintance of mine bought one and within a month trouble set in and then as permres suggested, the pedals are needed to get it back to where you started.
