The Catholic Church strongly opposes birth control. The Pope needs to encourage the use or protection, especially in third world countries. What their policies have done to the Philippines should be criminal. They need to keep their alter-boy-molesting-dick-beaters out of politics.

I'm sure he will see all the hell holes in Manila and worst areas of layte which was levelled by the typhoon last year.
But realistically he will only see the new shacks people have been given and there ain't many of them either.
If I were the pope one question I would ask is "what happened to the millions and millions of dollars the west gave to the philippines to rebuild the place! I bet there would be many red faces if it were asked.-

Street children always have been taken from the streets whenever a foreign dignitary visit the PH.
Nowadays they have detaining centers too but before it was jail only. I know this from a Dutch friend in Cebu, a Catholic priest who cared for this street kids. He found foster homes for a lot of them and send them to Don Bosco school for a vocation. Great Guy!!
Marcos had walls build in front of slums along the route from the airport. I'm not sure or they still exist (have not been in Manila since 2002) but noticed them in 1982.
Being in Tacloban the Pope will wonder maybe what is done with the Vatcans generous donation" of $50,000 or was it $500,000??
Do's not matter anyhow it did not even make a splash.-

A real great way to treat kids whilst the pope visits (not) just another cover up from this religious Catholic country! Let's hide all the real problems we have here and bury our head in the sand and hope he does not notice :(

Well, whatever language or dialect the Pope uses, and yes, it is reported that it will all be in English when he is here, he is supposed to be the the direct Representative of God, so it will be interesting in such a, on the surface anyway, " God Fearing" Country as Phil, whether the multitude will answer to his call, whatever it may be?

Yeah, there are certain elements in country that would love to have a chance to take him out (the Philippines is #3 in the world for terrorist attacks). Better safe than sorry. Nobody wants the Pope killed in their country.
