    Great reporting. :meh:

Why were they sacked? Did SPI have a comment on it? Only 15 people out of 100 showed up to protest? Why did only 15% of the employees care enough about being "illegally dismissed" from their job to show up to the protest? Did they even apply for a permit to protest with the mayor? If they did why did the mayor not approve it? If they didn't.....why not? (Not knowing the rules and just doing what they please might be a hint into why they were sacked.)

6 months period. The company sacked them to bypass payment of entitlements we take for granted.

15% is about the normal percentage of those smart enough to understand what the entitlements are. Again the movement has to start sometime, somewhere, by someone, etc.

That is how we received our sick leave, long service leave, holiday leave, superannuation, etc over the years.

Are we forgetting where we came from?? What we have/had??

I find this non-supportive attitude by some of us "foreigners" as sad indication of how "superior" we must feel and think we are.

    It is a shame.....

The other flip on call centers that also is an issue is how can people in a country that doesn't have X product or really know anything about it then what they read on their screens relate at all with those calling. That really pisses off callers who often do realize they are talking to people in another country who have no experience with the product other then what it says on their screen.

Agree with you on this. In 2012 I was living in Spain and had a problem with Telefonica ( My service provider)
The Operators talk gave me to believe they knew all about the Local problems as I had called on a local Number. It needed a Tech to call.
During the Conversation I said well I will give some Directions as the House is a little Hard to Find.
Oh just give me a cell number and the engineer will call you to arrange an appointment, so I said, eeer! I guess from your Conversation you are not from this Area of Spain, Spain? Oh No! I am in Bangladesh :meh: WTF

I thought we were just remembering where we came from, and why we came from there, because the cost of living got out of hand due to ever rising wages and prices. Where would we go when this place gets too expensive to live due to rising wages and thus rising prices?

I suggest it is a better solution to keep wages and prices both low so the workers can afford their needs and we can still afford to retire here.

I was only criticizing the reporting in my post. They could have done a much better job of informing people about what the sacked employees were protesting about.

There are plenty of people in the US who are contractors or contract labor these days. To do well in that situation you had better be good at what you do. I remember exactly where I came from.
