The shop near the cockpit is MKKS. Their beef tenderloin is from Brasil. I pay around 770 pesos per kilo. They also have a lot of sausages that are pretty good.

The deli near Bo's coffee (Blvd) sells frozen steaks that appear to be US certified (CAB). Expensive (2200 per kg) but tender and tasty.

Are you into home cooking? If so, The Welsh Deli (on Facebook) is based in Manila but delivers very fast (in cool box). I have shown beef below but they do many other things, including a wide range of sausages (21 types), pork, ham, bacon, lamb and pies. In my opinion a very good business to deal with.

    Probably? Source?

    Their burgers are 100% beef.

If you want to go on about the "pink slime", mechanically separated beef was also outlawed in the US in 2004 due to the fear of contracting "mad cow disease".

McDonalds burgers are no worse for you than the burgers coming off your grill.

I have not tried the beef from Belcris. I have been buying my beef from JHL. It is on the corner near Bo's Coffee on the Blvd. When I looked at the Prime Rib at Belcris, it was to big for just the two of us, so I passed. Other items from Belcris have been good, not any complaints from me.

Tinto is next to Sierra Hotel on Blanco about 1/2 click from Cafe Racer / Lantaw. They have a US Ribeye and a New Zealand ribeye for about 1/2 the price. And, yea, pricey, not a weekly or even monthly trek... Nice wine list too...

I think everything in Dumaguete is hit or miss. I've had a steak from there years ago. It was prepared by a maple syrup sucking Canuck (@gerry_bc) but it was pretty dang good.

I believe you can buy it at Belcris here in Dumaguete. Then you can prepare it the way you like.
