Is this thread an attempt at foreign expats exploring the concept of women’s rights in the Philippines? Really?

Suggest we just enjoy our stay here and let the people handle their own cultural affairs. Clue: They will not change what feels natural to them, for us.

World becomes a better place when the women take their rightful place in leadership roles and the little boys stay at home and mind the kids.

This is not a rebuff to your posting but something I find interesting to think about: Is it that with mum at home and kids being obedient, the World was a better place?

Tell me about it. I took a look at my son’s Social Studies book and it’s all about obedience to authority figures (parents, teachers and police) and antiquated notions of what makes a family. Father’s role in a family is to work, mother’s is to clean the house and care for the kids and the children’s role is unquestioning obedience to them. It’s so 1940‘s and just rubbish mind conditioning, if you ask me.

A culture of being afraid to challenge authority. Foreign aliens here will do it, but then are disliked.

Sorry, yes, I was talking about the hardships a non-local kid would face in the public schools here especially with the addition of the mother tongue in the school curriculum. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve heard that the public schools have more subjects in the mother tongue than private schools have.

And this is the reason for the exodus of teachers from the private schools to the public systems. It’s usually the good ones that make the exit.

    A most valid suggestion here.
