OK, and thanks danbanana.. Now WHERE THE HELL is the rain, think we've had about 1/2" in the last three weeks... Serious folks, global changes have moved the track of the usual storms further north, luzon gettin tons of sh*t.. Someday i may research it, more storms over luzon than visayas for a decade or so ?????
Hawk, one of the mantra's i live by is "There is always a balance between two extremes, right in the moderate middle, which is where i survive the best.." My other biggie is "Playing the shoulda, woulda, coulda game is a stupid life strategy," and i can't forget "Too much stress will kill ya, not enough challenge will kill you just as fast.... So i'm a philosopher at hoit (brooklyn accent).<grin>... PS, today was the hottest point in 2 yrs on my porch thermometer, 97 F / 36 C.. (duma near city mall)... I like some rain, maybe 0.2 inches a day, late evening when i want to fall asleep... or maybe 1/4 inch every other day (i don't wish for much)...
Remember, Sendong came in December, 2011. Slow moving tropical storm dumped more rain than this area could handle. My guess is the annual total rain will hit the average.
Only an hour before reading your comments I said to my wife that we seemed not to be getting much rain this year and, like you, wondered if it is due to global shifts in climate taking place worldwide this year. I know measurement is more important that what we think we observe but it just seems like you are correct.
Of course, thursday night it was 1.3" and friday was .3" What's the ancient saying, "when it rains, it pours. <<proverb misfortunes or difficult situations tend to follow each other in rapid succession or to arrive all at the same time.>>
Oct 15: Big rain night, i think it was about 2.1" (pulantubig / daro)... or did i just forget to reset the guage (pour it out).....
