I forget to tell I have an adopted Filipino dog, a young female, not 1 year old delivered 3 puppies on my terrace and left, I gave them milk in bottles and find good homes for all 3 but I get to close to one of them and when they want to pick him up I say next week his not ready yet. Now his 4 years old and still with me. Compared with German Shepard and the Malinois he is really stupid, but a good guard dog always barking when strangers come to our place and I try one time he wakes me up in the middle of the night and a person was inside our place, jump over the gate which is easy the wall and gate is around 160 cm living at the sea and higher wall would destroy the view. The guy had already thrown a bicycle outside the gate when he saw me he tries to tell me a story but when I told him to f*ck of NOW he jumps over the gate and disappeared on a bike, no big deal just show me the dog tell me if anyone is outside and the bicycle is still here. I wish I could have a Malinois to but my male dog is very dominant and I live in an apartment need to take care of neighbors (noise). When I take an animal inside my home it's until the end, can't give him away to please my own needs for another dog with skills who fit my personal needs better
Yeah, I didn't really mean to get into the differences between personal protection, patrolling and competition and what breeds excel in the the different drives and traits needed for each. There is little doubt that the Belgians are the top breed in patrolling and competition right now and you know more about them and their abilities than I do. The Belgian Malinois is a great breed and I have nothing bad to say about it. My thinking is like this, a lot of people find a motorcycle to be really useful in the Philippines, more so than lets say, the US. We can talk about which is better a Honda or a KTM but what is appropriate for the Philippines is really the Rusi. Cheap, durable, easy to maintain, and you don't have to worry about it getting stolen as much. That is the role I have in mind for a Filipino Guard Dog. I don't think you would leave your BM alone out on a fishing platform to discourage people from messing with it but that is exactly the type of job that they are needed for.
