Thanks for the info. The entry point is always the back door. There is a very small area I'm making very hard to get into. The dogs take care of the front. The window bars have a door on it in case of fires.
The break in was before it was installed. If the neighbors have a problem they can come talk to me about it. I'm sure I have a few things I'd like to talk to them about as well.
This could be a good story. Generally when someone finds an easily identifiable item they are not so uncertain.
in Bacolod I used razor wire hooked up to the mains, if they touched the razor wire it meant crispy critters, it would also set off a loud bell, it was a simple loop that made contact if the wire flexed, it was hooked up for about 1 year until I decided to disconnect it but it still looked live cause of the blue poly pipe, it was a common practice used in the subdivision I was in. what is also good is a light beam across the top of your fence sets off a bell if broken.
I did find the passport. I had left a bag at a friends place. Wasn't sure if it was in there or not when I made the post.
I would think that could cost a LOT on your electricity bill. Quite a bit of resistance with barbed wire. I would suspect it would cost more than running an electric hot water heater 24/7. No fire hazard?
You would only connect the phase - and the ground would be the intruder once he touch something. That way you would only be paying when somebody get electrocuted...
The more resistance the less use. A thick copper wire from live to zero would draw a lot. A electric fence isn't supposed to draw anything, as there is no closed circuit. If it does, you failed to insulate at some point.
Or wrye have you considered a move ? This ahole may get himself killed you killed you with mucho grief if you catch him at work I know I for sure would want to catch him but is it all worth the worry ?? These sneak thieves usually get what is due in the End.. Take care.
