I think a ground fault circuit breaker would do. The chock of realising there is 230v in the wire will prevent anyone from trying a second time, which would be safe as the breaker has tripped ;-)

I waited for somebody to make a legal remark to your plans, I am certain that it is illegal to hook up anything capable of killing somebody, no matter how badly you believe he deserves it. I will tell you a story that I was involved in a few years back, there was a small Hotel with a back wall facing an unpopulated area that was not visible from the front of the building, the only openings to that side were the Bathroom windows. They had a lot of complains that there was a guy peeping through the windows when girls would take shower.
The owner tried to stop it by having broken glass placed under the windows but the guy overcame that problem, so they decided to hook up what you intend to do, the guy got fried and the owner only escaped unpunished because of some intervention from some high ranking Police that a relative had as a friend. The Police did actually tell him later that they were not unhappy at all that the guy was no more, he was a well known trouble maker but his relatives made a big fuss about the, what they called murder, and the owner was advised to leave his place until everything calmed down...

It also helped that the 'owner" was not in the country at the time of the event. The person in charge at the time denied knowledge of the trap, as did the owner who was out of the country, so they had some "pass the buck" legalities in their favor too.

I think a ground fault circuit breaker, as mentioned above, should stop a deadly shock from happening. I think that I will be in just as much trouble if the guy slips, falls and hangs himself/cuts an artery on an unelectrified razor wire. They will blame me and want revenge on the foreigner.

I'm sure even if he slipped, fell and broke his neck on my freshly mopped floor while robbing me (with gun/knife in hand) the family would try to get some money out of me. The apple never falls far from the tree, I'm sure his family is just as pathetic.

And how about those broken glass you see on most fences? They are potential dead traps too.

I have rusted tack nails in my wall, but a thick carpet/leather jacket easily gets you past that.

Anything can be a death trap if you're stupid enough. They say you can drown in a tablespoon of water.....how do they know that? Some idiot probably did it.

Ok, now think about this statement for a moment, and how it may apply to the Philippines.

A friend of mine was here today, and him and his GF are getting evicted. The reason given was that a relative of the home owner has diabetes, and one of her legs has swollen up to elephant size. The determination was that the GF (also related) was a witch and had cast a spell on her, which of course without a doubt was what caused this.

It's MORE FUN in the PHILIPPINES!!!

    LOL

I doubt that would hold up in court as a valid reason for eviction. But you have to pick your battles here. If they are stupid enough to believe in witches they are stupid enough to make an attempt at your life.
