    Hello,

We will fly from Cebu and arrive early 7:00 in the morning. Is there any chance we can get a van from the airport directly to Malatapay Market and boat to Apo? How much will it cost? 5 in our group.
If not, shall we go to the Dumaguete city to find one or simply request the resort pick up, Php800 one way for the group?

    Thanks!

Plenty of vans waiting at the airport to take you anywhere you want to go. Just have one take your group to the Ceres Terminal in town. Or pile into a tricycle or two if you're really on a budget.

You can take the bus to Malatapay for P30 each from the Ceres bus terminal like we did last week...get on the Bayawan bus and tell the conductor you're going to Malatapay. Posted fees for a boat when we were at Malatapay were I think P1700 for a medium sized boat. A medium was pointed out to us-plenty big enough for 5 people.

If your resort will arrange a van for 5 pax then by all means go with that cuz when 5 tourists show up and ask it will be more like 2000 for the van and make sure your resort is providing the boat so you dont have to pay for a special trip

The boat price board said medium for either fishing trip or back and forth was P1700 and also said there is usually a boat available w/o reservation. But anything can happen right?

Hi, thanks for the advice. I have contacted Apo Island Beach Resort. They charge Php800 for one way land transportation, Php4000 for round boat trip. Even though we book a night there, they won't provide the transportation for free.
Bandit, you mentioned the 1700 is back and forth. If for day 1 we take it to the island and day 2 we take it back, is it still 1700 or we need pay double? if double is the case, we probably go with the resort boat, just Php400 more to save the efforts.
19 is Sun. Do you think we will have problem for the van rental? actually we would prefer the bus ride to save money. But are there plenty of buses on the route for Sunday?

    Thanks!

Always plenty of buses..if one's just left another one will go in an hour or less I'd guess. Have a seat and wait. The southbound buses have a Bayawan sign in the windshield.

Vans line up at the airport everyday when the planes come in. Tons of other transportation waiting to be hired as well.

If you're going to Apo one day and returning the next, it's probably 2x p1700 on the boats-and that'd be p600 difference, but probably worth using the resort's boat overall.

7 years ago I rode the tiny boat Paul's Resort provided for free or maybe it was p50 each. But it's tiny-might not hold 5x and baggage.
