⌛ retirement in Dumaguete

Hello I'm Roy Fernald from the city of Almere,province Flevoland in the Netherlands,about a 25 minutes ride from the capital city Amsterdam.I'm married for almost 22 years with Yvonne Tingcang who has her roots in Siquijor, but was born and rased in Iligan City(Mindanao)that's where we also met and get married in december 1985.Here in Holland,as the Netherlands is also named, I work as a prison officer for the Ministry of Justice,while my wife Yvonne is employed as assitant accounting for Mc kinsey & Co whii`mech is an American consulting compagny in amsterdam.We have also two kids, our son Sven,age 20 and a daughter Amber who is 12 years old.Since it's almost time for me to retire, we are checking and looking what the possibillities are to move to the philippines after retirement.We are therefore asking the help and advice from people who are more experience in this matter, so please let us know how to tackle it.We would like to settle down in the city of Dumaguete or its surroundings.

Welcome and good luck in planning your retirement! Dgte is a GREAT choice. There are wonderful private schools for your daughter to attend. There are also many on the forum starting or finishing their plans for retirement in Dgte. You may want to follow up on some of the previous posts from them.

I don't know how current are the info, but you will get a general idea of living in the Philippines. Dumaguete is not mentioned though. Maybe Iloilo will be a close comparison.
