Maybe this should be posted in the Humor section:

    From the Inquirer Newpaper, 1/15/2014

    "Return bonuses, gov’t execs told

The Commission on Audit has ordered Officials and employees of 31 government-owned and -controlled corporations to refund the government all bonuses and allowances totaling P2.313 billion whose payment in 2012 was deemed unauthorized.
Officials and employees of 31 government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs) have been ordered to refund the government all bonuses and allowances totaling P2.313 billion whose payment in 2012 was deemed unauthorized by the Commission on Audit (COA)."

How many Government employee will return their 2012 bonus? How many government employees will quit? I think this should be in the humor section. How many government employees will quit? How many government employees will quit and change their names and return to work? How many other schemes will government employees come up with including “I never received it” denial excuse.

I am not even convinced they could pull off asking for bonus returns in the US, without years of lawsuits by the effected union members, but in the Philippines... no way. In the Philippines it would take years to go through the courts and if any of the judges' family member were affected may be decades to resolve. Good posturing but most likely ineffective implementation.

I especially like that it's their 2012!!! Bonuses, how about if they would have canceled the payout of the 2013 Bonuses to compensate... of course I am only fantasizing, if this would have happened we sure would have heard of it in noisy protests...
