In Australia in I think the early 80tys they went over to the brown paper bags that were much thicker and bigger, but were still a total joke, you actually got to your car but as you were lifting it into your car the arse dropped out, whoosh all over the ground, then they went into the biodegradable plastic bags which they still use today, but at the checkout they try to encourage you to use your own shopping bags, as the checkout girl looses points if she uses too many plastic bags on her shift. Soon as I seen the paper bags I laughed to myself because I know how the people here transport there shopping on their motor bikes, either on the handle bars or ride with one hand and bag in the other. Makes for safe riding, imagine a panic stop lol
got a bit of a surprise today, went into robinsons bags in tote, shopped, went to check out and they had plastic bags, told the girl to just use mine instead since I had troubled to bring them with me. enforced, hmm, maybe.
Union Jack im with you , i paid 50 p for a big strong bag and its no trouble to take it with me , hang it on the front door knob lol . if your old enough u may remember mum using a string bag they were great and easy to carry when empty. plastic sux. cheers
We were not allowed into Lee Plaza yesterday because we had a plastic bag, they wanted us to leave the bag outside at the check in counter. So much for "bring your own bag". Larry
